Elle Jae Stewart

Elle Jae Stewart is from the humble city of Mobile. AL and now resides in sunny LA. She is a multi-hyphenated artist with a BA in Theatre Arts from Alabama State University and an MFA in Acting from Penn State University, therefore, transitioning into the roles as writer/director made sense.  As a mother, wife, woman of color, and other complex layers, her storytelling style is character-driven and simple yet effective: to expose the intimacy of thought with vulnerability leading the way.

Elle created a successful one-woman stage-play, JUNIOR, which spawned its adaptation into a screenplay, with Elle Jae winning multiple Best Actress Awards, countless prestigious nominations, and winning Best Social Justice Film, Honorable Mention, Juror’s Choice, Best International Film, and more. JUNIOR has secured digital distribution available now on video on demand with KweliTV.

She has written, produced, and directed a successful original concept pilot for television which has won Best TV Pilot from Indie Film Fest and secured a shopping agreement.  She recently completed a documentary about The American Theatre of BEing founded by Frank Silvera, "The Man of a Thousand Faces". This documentary provides information on an acting technique that was created for us, by us which helps to put our humanness in front of our blackness. Elle has added another accomplishment; author.
